What is OCR?
OCR (Obstacle Course Racing) is one of the fastest-growing sports in the world. An OCR race combines running with various obstacles that challenge participants’ speed, strength, agility, technique, and balance.
Gothenburg – Host City of the World Championships
The Swedish Athletics Federation has been honored with the opportunity to organize the OCR World Championships 2025 together with Tough Viking IF and Göteborg & Co. The championship will take place in Slottsskogen, with the start and finish line at Slottsskogsvallen. It features several different races:
- Short Course (approx. 3 km)
- Standard Course (approx. 12 km)
- 100m
- Team Relay (each leg approx. 2 km)

After the success of the 2024 World Masters Athletics Championships, it’s time to welcome OCR athletes from all over the world to Gothenburg. To make this championship a success, we need dedicated Technical Officials and Volunteers. We hope you want to be part of another fantastic international sports event!

Volunteer Roles & Needs
At international championships, the need for volunteers is significant. We are looking for people to assist in a variety of roles:
- Obstacle Marshal – Supervise obstacles and assist participants if needed.
- Merchandise – Help with the sale of official event products.
- Bib Distribution – Ensure that participants receive their race kits.
- Medal Ceremonies – Assist in organizing award presentations.
- Course Marshals – Ensure safety along the racecourse.
- Hydration Stations – Hand out water and sports drinks to runners.
- Spectator Guides – Assist and direct spectators and supporters.
- Media & Communication – Support photographers and film crews, manage social media.
- Expo & Sponsor Area – Assist companies and partners in the event village.
- Information Desk & Participant Support – Answer questions from athletes and spectators.
- Sustainability & Clean-Up – Ensure waste management and recycling are handled properly.
Volunteer Information Session
